How to Play Sand Block Puzzle
- Drag a hollow block up, down, left or right through open grid cells. Each straight slide counts as one move, even across several cells.
- Bring a matching block to the outlined receiving square in the top row. Sand starts flowing automatically after you release.
- Watch it fill to 100% and disappear. Its empty cells open new routes and the outlet reveals its next color.
- Clear every block to win. Replay all 10 levels, use free hints or undo, and try to improve your personal best.
Game Rules
- Blocks cannot rotate, jump, overlap or pass through walls or other blocks. Arrow-marked bars can only slide along their marked axis.
- You may stop at any reachable grid cell. A move follows one axis; moving around a corner takes two slides.
- Only a block touching the matching outlet’s top receiving square can collect sand. Wrong colors block the outlet without wasting its sand.
- Each color layer fills one block. Repeated colors are separate batches for separate blocks. Blocks stay in place during filling.
- There is no timer, lives or paid help. Undo also reverses completed fills and restores the outlet’s previous layers.
Strategy Tips
- Check the whole release order, not just the first color. Clearing a block changes both the space and the sand supply.
- Move a blocker out of the way before chasing an easy match. A useful setup move may clear nothing.
- Leave enough room for every cell of an L or T shape to pass. A free destination alone is not enough.
- Use hints in stages: a highlighted block, a direction, then the next slide. You still make the move.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do the sand outlets work?
The lowest exposed layer is the active color. Slide a matching block into its outlined square in the top row. After the block fills and clears, the next layer becomes available.
Why is my block not collecting sand?
It must stop in the top receiving row and cover an outlet square of the same color. Merely being somewhere below an outlet is not enough. Check the active color and slide the entire shape along a clear path.
Can I replay levels and undo mistakes?
Yes. All 10 levels are freely selectable. Undo restores the entire previous move, including cleared blocks and outlet layers. Restart begins that level again and keeps your best score.
Is Sand Block Puzzle free and without a timer?
Yes. Play all 10 levels with free undo and hints, no countdown, no download and no account. The optional move challenge compares against your own best.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Drag with one finger, or select a block and use the arrow buttons and distance selector. Desktop players can also use arrow keys; Shift + arrow slides to the lane’s end.
Are hints based on my current board?
Yes. Hints use a verified continuation when available and otherwise search from your current arrangement. If a search cannot find a route within its limit, it says so without calling the board a dead end.
Is this a falling-block or sand Tetris game?
This version is a sliding block puzzle. You move existing receivers through a grid to catch sand and clear them; you do not drop new pieces or clear horizontal lines.
Will my progress be saved?
Your board, undo history and best moves are saved in this browser when local storage is available. Language changes keep the same save. Progress does not transfer to another device.
