FreeCell, Spider or classic Solitaire?
FreeCell starts with 52 visible cards and four free cells. Spider uses 104 cards and clears same-suit King-to-Ace runs. Classic Klondike has hidden cards and a stock. In FreeCell, an empty column accepts any rank, not only a King.

Move a sequence, one step at a time
Do cards move automatically?
You choose the destination. After a move, only cards that meet conservative safety rules move automatically to foundations.
How many cards can you move in FreeCell?
A supermove transfers a sequence as if you moved its cards individually through free spaces. Maximum cards = (empty free cells + 1) × 2ⁿ, where n is the number of spare empty columns.

Do not count an empty destination column as spare space. With two empty free cells and just one empty column, you can move six cards onto an occupied column, but only three into that empty column. The sequence and destination must still obey the rank and color rules.
FreeCell strategy for beginners
- Look for Aces and 2s before moving. Plan how to free the cards covering them; all cards are visible from the start.
- Keep free cells available. Before parking a card, decide where it can go next so the cell does not stay blocked.
- Create an empty column to rearrange sequences. Any rank can go there; a King may be difficult to move out again.
- Keep useful lower cards accessible. Sending a card to a foundation too soon can remove a landing place for a card of the opposite color.
Playing FreeCell on your phone
Tap a card, then tap the destination column, free cell or foundation. To select a sequence, tap its first card. Dragging also works. Use Fullscreen for more room and scroll outside the board to read the guide. Undo reverses your move together with any automatic foundation moves.
Continue your game
When browser storage is available, your current deal and records are saved on this browser. Switching language uses the same save. Other browsers and devices do not share it, and clearing site data removes it. Check the save message before leaving.

Can any card go in an empty column?
Yes. A sequence also needs enough free cells and spare empty columns to be moved legally.
Why can’t I move this whole stack?
The cards must alternate colors and descend by one. The available free cells and empty columns limit the size of a supermove.
Do cards move automatically?
You choose the destination. After a move, only cards that meet conservative safety rules move automatically to foundations.
Is every deal solvable?
We use seeded shuffled deals and do not guarantee that every deal is solvable. Use Undo or Replay Deal to explore other strategies.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. Tap a card, then a destination, or drag. Progress is saved locally in your browser.
Is FreeCell free and playable without downloading?
Yes. Play in your browser without installing an app or creating an account. Hints, undo and replaying the current deal are included.
How do I replay the same FreeCell deal?
Use Replay Deal below the board to return to the starting layout. New Game creates a different shuffled deal. If a game is in progress, confirm before replacing it.
Are these Microsoft FreeCell deal numbers?
No. OnlinePuzzle uses its own seeded shuffle. A matching number in Microsoft FreeCell does not identify the same layout here. The number shown identifies this site’s deal; it is not an input for choosing a Microsoft game.
Does Hint solve the whole game?
No. Hint suggests a legal move, not a guaranteed winning sequence. Try Undo or Replay Deal to explore a different approach.
