How to Play Meowdoku
Meowdoku is a cat-themed logic game about finding the only safe place for each cat. Start with Level 1, then work through 15 original puzzles that gradually introduce new deduction patterns. On each board, place one cat in every row, every column and every colored region. Cats cannot touch, including at a corner.
Tap a square once to mark it with an X if you believe it cannot hold a cat. Tap again to place a cat, and tap a third time to clear it. On desktop you can also use the keyboard or right-click to place a cat. The first level contains a fixed cat to help you see how a confirmed placement blocks nearby squares.
Meowdoku Rules
- One cat per row: Two cats cannot share a horizontal line.
- One cat per column: Each vertical line must contain exactly one cat.
- One cat per color: Every colored region, even an irregularly shaped one, holds exactly one cat.
- No touching: Cats may not share a side or corner. Being farther apart on the same long diagonal is allowed.
You win when every row, column and colored region contains exactly one cat and none of the cats touch. X marks help with reasoning, but you do not need to fill every unused square with an X.
Meowdoku Tips and Strategy
Start with restricted regions. A region that has only a few possible squares can offer the first deduction. Check whether an entire row or column is already blocked before choosing a cat.
Use your X marks. Once a cat is confirmed, rule out the rest of its row, its column, its region and its neighboring squares. A single placement can reveal several new possibilities.
Look for locked candidates. If all remaining cat positions in a colored region lie in one row, that row's cat must belong to that region. You can rule out other colors in the same row even before you know the exact square.
Ask for a reason, not just an answer. Use Hint to highlight a useful area and Show Why to learn the next logical step. Your progress stays saved in the same browser when storage is available.
